Fernando Indacochea, M.D., FAAP, of Petersburg, W.V., received the West Virginia Outstanding Rural Health Practitioner of the Year Award from the W.V. Rural Health Consortium for providing quality care, collaboration and multidisciplinary teamwork and involvement in Grant and Hardy counties.
In addition to practice, he holds teaching appointments with West Virginia University, Marshall University, the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Alderson Broaddus College, Mountain State University and James Madison University and is a mentor to medical and physician assistant students at Grant Memorial Hospital.
Vice president of the AAP West Virginia Chapter, Dr. Indacochea is a member of the AAP Councils on Community Pediatrics and School Health and Provisional Section on Early Education and Child Care.
